Claude Personal Finance vs. ChatGPT Finances: What sets them apart? - Engadget

AnnouncementProductNov 7, 2026

Anthropic announced Personal Finance for Claude, a bank-linked feature rivaling OpenAI's Finances in ChatGPT, which launched in May. Both use Plaid for read-only access to accounts and generate dashboards for expenses and spending habits. The key difference is privacy: Anthropic says Personal Finance conversations are not used for model training by default, while ChatGPT's financial conversations follow existing training settings unless users opt out. Anthropic also states the feature has no ads or sponsored recommendations.
